Casino pool sets — the spots and stripes format played across most of the world, with fifteen object balls and a cue ball.

It is the most universally recognised pool game there is, which makes a casino set the natural choice for a home table where visitors will want to play something they already know. Quality runs the full ladder here. Formula Sports and Palko sets are excellent value for a family table, Mitchell's Super Polyester Grade A steps up the finish and consistency, and Aramith Premier gives you phenolic resin that stays glossy and true for years.

There are novelty and themed sets too, including AFL club colours and the Battle of the Sexes set, which make a good talking point on a games room table.
