Maple Cues
Maple is the classic American pool timber, and the reason is power. It is stiffer than ash, so more of the energy in your stroke goes straight into the cue ball — which is exactly what you want when you are moving heavier balls and breaking with pace.
That stiffness also makes it precise. There is less give in the shaft, so the cue does what you tell it and good technique shows up immediately in the result. Visually it is clean and pale with very little grain figure, which suits players who want a cue that looks understated rather than striped.
If you play American pool on a full-size table with 2¼ inch balls, this is the timber the game was built around. Available one-piece and two-piece across the standard weight range.
